About Rod Cherkas

HelloCCO Founder Rod Cherkas is a strategic thought leader, customer success pioneer, experience design innovator, and accomplished operational executive. Since 2002, he has been at the forefront of defining and executing innovative post-sale experiences for recurring revenue businesses in ways that improve client onboarding, increase retention, expand product adoption, and accelerate growth in shareholder value.

Rod has been an Operating Executive at industry-leading companies known for their great customer experiences including Gainsight, Marketo and RingCentral (all completed $1 billion+ IPOs or acquisitions). Earlier in his career, Rod spent 14 years as a functional leader at Intuit, where among other things he operationally scaled the company’s first signficant recurring revenue business (QuickBooks Payroll).  From previously working at Microsoft to multiple startups, Rod has covered the full range of company sizes, from early stage to IPO to private equity owned.  

Delighting customers, delivering awesome experiences throughout the entire customer journey, and building cohesive teams to scale these promises are the common threads of Rod’s entire career. Customer Success is in Rod’s DNA: he is a dynamic facilitator who inspires organizations with his innovative approach, out-of-the-box thinking, passion for delighting customers, and ability to engage cross-functional leaders to collaborate productively.     

Rod is one of the few executives in Silicon Valley who has hands-on experience managing teams across the full range of post-sale operating functions including Professional Services/ Enablement/ Implementation, Account Management/CSM, Technical Support, Education/Certification, and Service Operations.  He now has the privilege of working directly with clients to bring his post-sale operating experience, facilitation skills, execution acumen, data-driven analytics, and leadership development skills to a wide range of fast-growing, innovative companies.  

Rod earned his MBA from Stanford Business School and his B.A. in Economics from Duke University.  He lives in San Mateo, California with his wife Corey and his three children.
